The Novosibirsk Opera for the first time in Russia prepares a co-production with the Paris National Opera.






The Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater for the first time in Russia prepares a co-production with one of the world leading theaters, the Paris National Opera. On December 19, 21, 23, 25 the Big Stage will see the premiere of the famous Verdi’s opera «Macbeth». Produced by Teodor Currentzis and Dmitri Tcherniakov. Soloists, chorus and orchestra are of the Novosibirsk Opera.

Performed by leading soloists of the Novosibirsk Opera, as well as guest soloists: Dimitris Tiliakos (Greece), Honored Artist of Russia, Laureate of the State Prize of Russia, Laureate of the National Theater «Golden Mask» Awards Larisa Gogolevskaya (St. Petersburg), Laureate of the international competition Dmitri Ulyanov (Moscow).

«Macbeth» is an opera in 4 acts, libretto by F.M. Piave and A.Maffei after the Shakespeare’s tragedy of the same name.

It was first held in Florence, in the theater "La Pergola" on March 14, 1847.

Later, the opera was revised for Paris. The first production in Paris was held in the Theatre Lyrique on April 21, 1865.
